Red's Story

Meet Red! Red is an approximately 3–4-year-old Husky with a pretty incredible story of how he found his way to safety.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Red was living around a trap house when he quite literally ran into one of a foster’s backyard. His owners ultimately decided they no longer wanted him, and honestly, we think Red knew exactly which yard to choose.

Since coming into foster care, he has been showing everyone what a wonderful dog he is. His foster’s first description of him? CRAZY dog friendly. Red absolutely loves other dogs and has a fantastic temperament, especially for a Husky.

He’s also kennel trained and has been wonderful with kids. He currently lives with a 5-year-old and is incredibly calm, patient, and gentle with them.

Red will chase cats, but his foster hasn’t seen it come from an aggressive or predatory place—he seems to think they should be his playmates. A home with cats would still need to be prepared for careful introductions and management.

After everything he’s been through, Red has landed exactly where he needed to be. Now he just needs the final piece: a family of his own who will appreciate his sweet temperament, dog-loving personality, and very questionable-but-effective method of choosing his own rescue. 😂

Apply to adopt Red through Arctic Rescue at arcticrescue.org/adopt.
Please note that all Arctic Rescue dogs are marked “Needs Experienced Adopter.” Northern breeds often have higher exercise, training, and care needs, so adopters without prior experience are encouraged to research the breed before applying.

Arctic Rescue's Adoption Policy
HOW OUR ADOPTIONS WORK: 1) We require all adopters to fill out an online application at: https://www.arcticrescue.com/adopt 2) We are a Utah-based rescue. All potential adopters must come to Utah and meet the dogs. We do not transport dogs. 3) We want to make sure that your home is the perfect fit for one of our dogs and vice versa. We want all members of the family to be happy and well matched with each-other, so require families to do a phone interview, reference checks, meet dogs and pass a home-inspection before adoption.
