RED

*House Trained
*Crate Trained
*Loves his people (older children please)
*Loves playing with other dogs
*Walks well on a leash
*Moderate energy level, calm temperament
*Just the sweetest little guy!

RED's estimated date of birth is January 2, 2021 and he is 20lbs. He is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.

This pup is sweet to his core! Very affectionate, gentle and loves his people. He lives in a foster home that includes a foster dad, foster mom, teenagers and he is so sweet with them all. RED may take some time to warm up to new faces and new situations, however, he is quick to trust anyone who is kind to him. We will want his adoptive family to give him time to settle into his new home and continue to work to build his confidence with training, daily walks and activities.

Loves playing with other dogs! RED is happiest when he has another dog to play with. We are looking for a home with a friendly, confident and playful fur-sibling for him. RED will look to the other dogs in the home for assurance. He is on the submissive side and will follow the lead of who he is playing with. He would also love a fenced-in yard to run around in free play. RED's foster home includes 3 dogs and he is playful with them all. He knows to settle down when the older dogs let him know they need a break. RED also does well with independent play. He will happily entertain himself with a chew toy or stuffed animal.

RED is house-trained. He understands that he should go outside to do his business. His adoptive family should be prepared to take him out on a consistent schedule. RED is also crate-trained. He stays in the crate when his foster family is out of the home for errands or for short periods during the day to nap.

RED knows the command Sit and Down and we are working on Come. We will want his adoptive family to continue to work on his basic training as it helps his confidence. He takes treats gently from the hand. He is not food aggressive and does not resource guard - he will allow you to take toys and food away from him.

RED is leash trained. He loves his daily walks. He will approach cautiously when meeting new people and dogs, but will be very affectionate once comfortable. He will sit quietly and patiently by your side if you stop to chat with a neighbor.

RED is a calm car rider. He will sit quietly in his car seat until you get to your destination.

Work from home? RED is calm and quiet so he won't disturb your conference call. In his foster home, he likes to nap in his bed in his foster dad's office.

While RED does not have a prey drive, he has not yet met a cat.

We will want his new family to give RED the structure a young dog needs and build on his foundation of training. He is still a young dog and patience will be needed. He will only be placed in a loving home that is dedicated to work with him on basic training and will introduce him to a variety of safe activities and experiences so he can be comfortable in the world.

For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. You can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email info@youluckydogrescue.org for additional details that are not included in this biography.

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.

The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.

We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
