Red's Story

I came to the shelter after being dumped in a parking lot, and while I have some hair loss issues, the staff is giving me regular baths to help my skin and coat get back to feeling their best.

I’m great on a leash, housetrained, and just an all-around chill kind of dude. I enjoy getting affection from my people, but I’m also perfectly happy sitting beside you and keeping you company. I’m a slower-moving guy most of the time, but when I decide I want to pick up the pace, I definitely can!

I’ve been introduced to other dogs and have been doing really well. I’m currently kenneled with another dog and also get to go out with the shelter’s “older” dog play group. This group isn’t really about running around and playing—it’s more about calmly existing together, sniffing around, and enjoying each other’s company, which suits me just fine.

I also have a bit of a unique hump in my back. I came into the shelter with it, and we don’t know exactly why it’s there, but it’s simply part of what makes me, me. Despite it, I get around just fine and enjoy my walks and time outside.

If you’re looking for a laid-back companion who enjoys a good walk, some affection, and then settling in beside you, I might just be your guy!
