Red's Story

RED — 11 Months Old and Dreaming of a Life He’s Never Known

11 Months Old Approximately 45 lbs Male Labrador Retriever/Border Collie Mix

Meet Red, a handsome young boy with a beautiful reddish coat, warm brown eyes, adorable floppy ears, and a face that can melt your heart.

At just 11 months old, Red should be enjoying everything that makes being a young dog so wonderful. Running through the backyard, discovering new toys, taking walks with his favorite person, and curling up somewhere soft after a day of adventures.

Unfortunately, Red hasn’t had the opportunity to experience those simple pleasures of family life.

Instead, he’s been living outdoors, waiting for someone to notice him and give him the chance he deserves.

And despite his circumstances, Red has remained a sweet, friendly boy who loves people and is good with children. There’s something especially endearing about his curious expression and those little ears that seem to have a personality all their own.

Red is still young, with so much potential and an entire lifetime ahead of him. He deserves someone who will patiently introduce him to the comforts of home, teach him new things, and make him feel like a cherished member of the family.

Because Red has been living outdoors, we cannot confirm that he is housebroken. His adopter should be prepared to introduce him to house training, indoor routines, and the everyday experiences that come with becoming a family companion.

There’s something important about Red’s final photograph.

It shows the environment where this young boy has been living. We included it because we want people to understand why finding Red a safe, loving home is so important.

But please don’t let that photograph define him.

Red is so much more than the circumstances he’s been living in. He’s a young dog with a sweet personality, a beautiful face, and so many wonderful years still ahead of him.

Imagine being the person who gives Red his very first comfortable bed, his own toys, a backyard to explore, and the security of knowing he finally belongs somewhere.

Red has spent almost his entire puppyhood waiting for a family. We don’t want him to spend another year wondering what it feels like to be loved.

Somewhere out there is a person or family who could change everything for this deserving young boy.

Maybe that person is you.

Paws of the South Rescue

Please consider opening your heart and home to Red. Apply to adopt him and help give this handsome youngster the future he deserves.
