Raye's Story

RAYE
45lbs
Neutered
Up to date on vaccines

House training - Yes 100% house trained

Crate training - Yes 100% crate trained. Raye settles down well in his crate, especially when he has had plenty of exercise throughout the day. When he is tired and ready for bed, he goes right to his place. Raye has done well free-roaming with the resident dogs for short periods, 1-3 hours, in both a home and office setting. He has shown no signs of destructive behavior or chewing.

Energy level - Raye has a medium high energy level. Regular exercise, training and mental stimulation are important for Raye to be at his best. When Raye is properly challenged with work and mental stimulation , he is very calm and chill around the house.

Good with dogs? - Raye is great with the foster homes other dogs. He loves to play and roughhouse with them. He bonded quickly with his foster brothers after proper introductions.

Good with kids? - In his previous foster home he was great with their kids.

Good with cats? - In his previous foster home he was good with cats, but liked to play chase with them. He exhibits high prey drive for rabbits and squirrels, so proper introductions would be warranted.

Barking? - Raye rarely barks. He does cute Husky talk during play.

Toys? - Raye is learning fetch and frisbee, but his favorite game is keep away, stealing a toy from the other dogs and having them run and chase him!

Good on a leash? - Raye is in leash work training, and has become very good on leash, but he is working towards becoming great on a leash! He knows how to properly walk loose-leash next to his human, but over stimulation can lead to some pulling now and again. If he knows he is going somewhere fun, or if he catches the scent of a rabbit, he will pull some. Raye is working on it, and doing great!

Likes- Raye loves swimming in the farm pond! He would spend all day swimming if it were up to him! He doesnt want to leave when its time to go home!

What is foster dog working on/what needs improvement? -Raye is currently in basic obedience training, and doing great! He knows auto check-ins, place, sit, shake, down, stay, sit-stay , down-stay and come. He is especially proud of himself when he sit-stays the required amount of time, and comes running to his human when called, with a big grin on his face!! Huskies by nature have a stubborn streak and like to test their boundaries, and Raye, as Husky mix, can exhibit these traits, so recall training is a very important skill we are working on. Raye is even working on off-leash recall training with an e-collar, and doing very well so far!

Some fun facts like favorite treats, nicknames, anything you can think of! - Raye-Raye is the nickname of our handsome blue-eyed boy!
His favorite treats are natural chews like beef bones, bully sticks or yak cheese chews. He loves fresh fruit as a special treat!

Adventurous - Raye is always up for an adventure! Truck rides, swimming, hiking, Raye wants to be on the go! He is not a couch potato, unless he is wore out from a day of adventure!

Affectionate - Raye is cuddly and affectionate with his humans, his foster brothers, and any new friends he meets throughout the day!

Athletic - Raye is very athletic, he loves to run and run and run some more!

Friendly- Raye has never meet a stranger, he loves making new friends, both human and canine!
