Raya's Story

Hi! My name is Raya!

I’m a young Belgian Malinois, and I was found running the streets of Indianapolis before The Red Dog Rescue scooped me up. Now, I’m living it up with my foster mom, Cora, and all my new friends!

I LOVE people - every single one I meet is instantly my best friend. Dogs too—I’m the kind of girl who can make a buddy out of anyone. My favorite thing is running fast in big open fields and at the park. I’m already off-leash with my e-collar, which means I get to zoom around safely, play fetch, and then plop down in the grass to sunbathe like a queen.

I already know my obedience: sit, down, heel, come, you name it! Walks on my flexi leash are the best, and I’m always up for an adventure. At home, I enjoy relaxing on cozy dog beds and working on chew bones. I’m also practicing “settle time” in my crate. I do great lying down, but sometimes I like to let everyone know I miss them. My foster mom says I’m improving every day!

I also think cats are *very* interesting. I know I cant hurt them but, I just really enjoy staring and tracking them around the house.

What I really want is an active forever home that understands Malinois energy. I’d love a family who will take me running, hiking, or exploring often, and who will keep teaching me fun new obedience, tricks, and life skills. I’m already in a really good place, but I know I’ll thrive with someone who loves helping me keep my brain busy and my paws moving.

If you’re looking for a smart, athletic, and endlessly loving companion, I think we could be perfect together.

*Adopting from The Red Dog Rescue means getting a dog that fits with the lifestyle you are already living!
