Raven's Story
This pretty girl is Raven, ARPH #14664! Raven is a four year old spayed black tri female with absolutely the best temperament, according to her foster home. She was very much loved in her previous home and only came to us due to her owner's terminal illness. She is the daughter of Millie, ARPH #14446. A nice size at around 40 pounds, she has excellent house manners. She has yet to meet a dog or person big or small that she doesn't immediately fall in love with. She loves children! There was a cat in her previous home, so dog savvy cats would be okay. No other females, but she would be fine with a male canine companion. When she came into foster care, Raven had no understanding of simple commands and was not crate trained. It didn't take long to get her used to the crate with the crate games plan, although she will sometimes whine a bit when she first goes in. Raven is very food-motivated and is learning quickly. Now she is doing well with sit, come, working on “off” (furniture and jumping up on you gently to greet). Leash walking has improved tremendously. Perfectly house trained, Raven just doesn't have a tell sign... she holds it till you walk near the door then just stands there.... OH! If it is raining, though, she doesn't go right out but hits the brakes and looks at you as if to say, “Make it stop”! But give her a minute, and her need to go out weighs her desire to stay dry. She's very friendly towards humans, but watch out for squirrels... she will literally try to climb the tree after them! A fenced yard would be best to keep Raven safe. She likes toys and is fond of her snuggle puppy. She is up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. This sweet girl is truly a diamond in the rough and will make a wonderful companion in the right home! She is fostered in Tonawanda, NY.
