Rasta's Story

Meet Rasta! This adorable 2-year-old Cavalier mix weighs just 12 pounds and is looking for a very special forever home where he can truly feel safe and loved. Rasta is a sensitive little guy who can be skittish in new situations, so he’ll thrive with someone who understands dog behavior and is willing to give him the patience and space he needs to build trust. In a calm, quiet home, Rasta begins to show his sweet personality as he learns that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. He prefers to come to his people on his own terms rather than being picked up or forced into cuddles, but once he feels comfortable, those gentle moments of connection are incredibly special. He would do wonderfully in a home with another confident dog who can help show him the ropes and boost his confidence. Because loud noises and sudden movements can overwhelm him, Rasta would do best in a home without young or very active children. The good news is that Rasta already has a great foundation—he is both house trained and crate trained! He simply needs a dedicated adopter who is willing to continue working with him and provide consistent training and structure. With time, patience, and understanding, Rasta will blossom into a loyal little companion who finds comfort relaxing nearby and coming to you when he’s ready. If you’re someone who believes the most rewarding bonds are built with patience and kindness, Rasta may be the perfect pup for you!

Rasta is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations. For more information about him, please fill out an application at www.ALRcares.com and email Julie@alrcares.com. We schedule meet and greets for approved adopters only, an application is the first step in our approval process. Thank you!
