Raphael's Story

05/16/07 adopted!
05/15/07

My Name is Raphael--but most people call me Ralphy---I am a golden retriever mix and I was one of 12 puppies that were found in a field when we were only 1 week old. If it were not for ARVSS taking us in-we would have been separated. But luckily there was a foster home with a momma dog who just finished with her litter and she took us on. So we got a great mom to help us turn into good dogs.

I was born around the end of March. I have the potential to be over 50 lbs. I am good with other dogs and cats--my foster home has three of each tha we get to interact with. I really like people of all ages--the littlest ones I like the most cuz they usually have something on them worth licking off. Very soon i will have all the vaccinations I need to interact with other dogs in other places and we will be taking trips to the store and the vets office and to other peoples homes. And I get lots of visitors at my foster home. Everyone wants to come play with me and my litter mates.

I am a very happy puppy. I really enjoy sitting on a lap and getting lost of long strokes down my back. I enjoy soft toys that I can run around with--my litter mates try and get it away--if one does--then I join in the chase to get the toy away from them. This game is lots of fun!

As much as i like playing with my mates--I would rather have a forever home were there are people who have time to train me and teach me to be a good dog. If you would like to meet me, please fill out the application at the link below--that is the first step.

Apply now: Adoption Application

Adoption fees:
$250.00: Puppies under 6 months
$250.00: Dogs under 30 pounds
$175.00: Dogs over 30 pounds, over 6 months
There will be a $50.00 refund with proof of obedience class.

Adoption fee includes: microchipping, spay/neuter, initial vaccinations including rabies if age appropriate, HW testing for adult dogs over 6 months and deworming, HW preventative and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. ARVSS encourages adoptors to visit their own vet as soon as possible after the adoption.
