Ranger Willis 26-02-089's Story
Not every dog starts out as a Velcro dog.

Some just need a little more time to believe they're finally home.

Ranger spent nearly five years surviving in a Texas state park, so it's no surprise that he learned to be independent. But once you earn his trust, something really special happens.

His foster says he now follows her like a shadow. He waits for her to come home from work, keeps an eye on the property, and will even bark to alert her if something doesn't seem right. He's become incredibly loyal and protective of the person he loves.
Even better? Despite spending all day home alone while his foster works, Ranger has never had a potty accident in the house and has never destroyed anything. He's proven to be a wonderful house guest who also genuinely enjoys relaxing indoors.

Of course, Ranger still loves the outdoors too. Watching him explore a secure yard, nap under a tree, or quietly wander the property is seeing him in his element.

If you're looking for the perfect little homestead companion, Ranger checks all the boxes:

Loves other dogs.
Great with cats.
Even does well with chickens.

That's the trifecta!

At around 30 pounds, he's the perfect size for a farm, acreage, or home with a securely fenced yard. He must have a fence as he is not a fan of the leash.

Ranger isn't the kind of dog who will climb into your lap on day one. But if you're willing to give him patience, understanding, and time, he'll reward you with something even more meaningful - a quiet, unwavering loyalty that's earned, not rushed.

Sometimes the deepest bonds aren't instant.

Sometimes they're built one day at a time.

If you've been searching for a peaceful garden buddy, a faithful farm sidekick, or simply a best friend who will quietly stand by your side once he knows you're his person, Ranger has been waiting for you all along.
