Ranger's Story

This is Ranger, formerly known as Joker, from one of our previous litters. He was adopted as a baby and is now being returned because his energy levels do not match the family's. He now finds himself looking for a new family. His mom was a husky, and the best guess is that his dad may have been a shepherd. Ranger just turned a year old, is neutered, current on vaccines, and microchipped. He is sweet, dog and kid friendly, and just needs someone to help him get his energy out. He is being fostered in Cleveland, Ga currently.

He is very friendly and affectionate. He enjoys being around people and has a sweet, playful personality.

His biggest challenge is chewing and getting into things when not closely supervised. He can be quite sneaky in this regard. Ranger is a very strong chewer and goes through even the strongest toys extremely quickly.

He would not be well-suited to a family where everyone works outside the home or with families who have "on the go" lifestyles unless he could frequently ride along. He does not like feeling left out or being alone for a moment and is very attuned to what everyone in the home is doing at all times.

He enjoys being outside, running, and playing fetch or tug of war. He is very active and would likely do best in a home that can provide a lot of exercise and attention throughout the day.

We think he would do better in a home with another dog to help satisfy some of his need for constant socialization and high energy level. He has never met any animal or person who was a stranger. He does not have an aggressive bone in his body.

As far as tricks, Ranger can stand on two legs and even take a few steps for a treat, sit, lie down, and can jump up to rest his front legs on your arms. One of his favorite activities is "boxing" with my husband, as he loves roughhousing.

For more information, email adopt@mushrescue.com

Application: https://mushrescue.com/prospective-owner-application/
