Ranger has no idea how much of life he's missed.

He still believes every person he meets could be his person. He still melts into belly rubs, leans against your leg just to be close, and looks at you like he can't believe you're talking to him.

Recently, for the first time, in a very long time, Ranger got to wake up in a home for a week with a volunteer. He learned what "good morning" sounds like.
He went on hikes. Rode in the car. Shared a house with little dogs and respectfully gave the senior dog her space.

At night, he quietly walked into his crate, looked back one last time, and went to sleep knowing someone had remembered he was there.

Ranger is a 55-pound Shepherd mix who is house trained, crate trained, wonderful with children, and fantastic with dogs of all sizes. He's incredibly intuitive, eager to please, and happiest simply being near anyone that will take the time.

The heartbreaking part isn't wondering what home Ranger can fit into,
it's knowing how naturally he would fit into most, just has never had the chance.
