Ranger's Story

Ranger – Gentle Soul Seeking a Calm, Dog-Filled Home

Ranger’s story began in the deserts of El Paso, Texas, where he and his littermates were born among roaming street packs. A kind rescuer stepped in, and after weeks of patient socialization, Ranger traveled all the way to Florida in search of safety and love.

This beautiful boy has grown up in rescue and is still waiting for the right person to understand him. Ranger is a sensitive soul — shy, cautious, and easily startled — but also incredibly loving once he feels safe. When he trusts you, his whole world opens up: soft tail wags, gentle kisses, and quiet loyalty.

Ranger absolutely must be adopted into a home with at least two other friendly dogs. He gains his confidence and sense of security from them and follows their lead in everything he does. Without canine companions, he becomes withdrawn and anxious. Because of this, single-dog homes are not a fit for him.

He would do best in a calm household — ideally with no young children — and with adopters who have patience, kindness, and experience helping nervous dogs decompress at their own pace. Once settled, Ranger is crate-trained, well-mannered, and loves to quietly observe the world with his pack.

After two long years in foster care, Ranger deserves a family who will see past his fears and help him blossom into the gentle, loyal companion he was meant to be.

If you have a peaceful home, a loving heart, and a couple of confident dogs who could help guide him, Ranger may finally find the happiness he’s been waiting for.

Adopting is a serious responsibility. A dog could live for 10 to 20 years. Each pet has its own personality and preference that you can help shape through love and continuous training. A dog makes considerable demands on your time, resources and finances. In some cases, these expenses can exceed $1,000 a year. Do you feel that you are capable of providing these things for the remainder of this dogs life at this time? Fill out an application, if we feel it is a good fit you will move on to meeting the dog and if everything checks out we move onto the contract and adoption fees.
