Ranger's Story

Apply to Adopt Me!

Meet Ranger! This approx. 2yo, 25lb. boy is such a sweet and polite boy. We believe he may be a mix of several different breeds, including Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua. Despite being found homeless on the side of a country road, he is very well house trained. Car rides are his ideal nap time and he'll sleep the entire time he is in the car. He also sleeps great through the night. Ranger needs training with leash walking, as he tends to walk side to side and will pull if he gets excited or distracted. Once he has tired himself out, his walking improves. He is AMAZING with all people including kids; he does have a prey drive so he should not be in a home with cats or other small animals. He needs to be an only dog, as he is reactive to other dogs. He is so patient and so sweet, and always wants to make new friends! Toys or balls don’t interest Ranger, but he is obsessed with teaser cat toys (the ones on the string). Ranger is medium energy and has a great off switch, meaning he will be chill when you’re watching a movie on the couch and he will be ready to go when it's time to go on a long walk. Ranger is a very comfortable dog that enjoys just about anything. He is eager to please and a very fast learner. He always does a little dance whenever he is excited to see you. If you have been waiting for a medium sized dog with a big and loving personality in your life, Ranger is the dog for you! We don’t know what Ranger’s past was like, but with an active family who can commit to training to help him get over his reactivity to other dogs, and perfect his leash walking, he will be the best dog he can be. A fenced yard would be ideal, but also plenty of daily leash walks will suit him just fine too. Ranger does experience intermittent bouts of coughing from a suspected collapsing trachea which does not alter his day-to-day activities, and he is on no meds. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and think you have the perfect home for Ranger, complete an application and tell us about your family.
