Ranger's Story
Looking to add another pup to your pack? Ranger might just be the one… if you’re the right match.

Ranger is a 5–6 year old Blue Heeler weighing around 40 lbs. He has excellent dog social skills and would thrive in a multi-dog home with the right structure and leadership.

When Ranger first arrived in early 2025, he did not know anything other than how to be in a kennel —he did not know how to walk on a leash, accept pets, or be handled. With time, trust, and a lot of snacks, this boy has made incredible progress and is now ready to find his person.

But let’s be honest: Ranger isn’t a soft, timid rescue dog anymore. He’s a bold, pushy, hilarious, fiercely loyal little dragon. He’s extremely food motivated and very wary of strangers, especially at home or behind a fence.

With proper introductions, snacks, and someone he respects, Ranger warms up fast. Once you’ve earned his trust, he’s the ultimate buddy—sweet, funny, snuggly, and totally devoted. He walks great on leash, loves to play, and will absolutely make you laugh daily.

Because he can be reactive and will stand his ground, Ranger needs a strong, confident leader—someone who’s not afraid to set clear boundaries. If you’re soft or unsure, he’ll run the show. But if you’re fair and firm, he’ll happily follow your lead and melt into your pack.

Ranger’s Ideal Home:
• Experienced, confident dog handler
• Low-traffic home (no kids or cats)
• A stable environment where new people aren’t constantly coming and going
• Another confident dog or two would be a plus
• Someone who understands that structure + snacks = his heart

Ranger is a true character—equal parts snugglebug and dragon, with a huge personality packed into 40 lbs. He needs a savvy human who will set him up for success… and laugh with him along the way.

To learn more about Ranger or to apply to adopt him, please complete an application in the lin below:

https://form.jotform.com/232547694860164
