Ranger's Story

Ranger may have started out on the wrong trail, but this sweet boy is ready to find his way straight into your heart! This handsome 10-month-old male Pointer and Terrier mix is a medium sized pup weighing around 45 pounds with a short black and white coat and a heart full of love. Perhaps there is a little bit of growing to do and will likely gain a few pounds when fully grown but will remain a medium sized dog of under 60 poundcs. After being dumped at the town dump and making it a challenge to catch him, Ranger is ready for a fresh start with a family who will show him how wonderful life can be.Ranger is a very social and affectionate young dog who loves being around people and especially enjoys leaning in for cuddles. He is good with dogs and children and has a friendly personality that makes him easy to love. Ranger has not met a cat, so his relationship with cats is unknown at this time. As an active young dog, he will enjoy plenty of playtime, attention, and opportunities to be part of the family.House training, crate training, and leash training are all in progress as Ranger learns his new routines. He would thrive with a family committed to continuing his training with patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, regular exercise, and plenty of affection. Although many dogs become reliable with house training, accidents can still occur while adjusting to a new home environment.Ranger has already experienced the heartbreak of being abandoned, but he is not letting that stop him from being a happy and loving dog. If you are ready for a social pup who will happily lean right into your arms for cuddles, Ranger is ready to find his forever home and become your favorite companion for every adventure!* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Ranger is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
