Meet Ramona-2/1/22

RAMONA is a strikingly beautiful, 2-year-old, 35-pound, Am Staff mix.
Ramona is a spunky playful girl with lots of energy. Chewing toys is one of her favorite activities. Give her a Kong or a ball and she'll be occupied for hours. Ramona also loves to run and is always up for a game of fetch. She hopes her new family enjoys playtime outdoors just as much as she does!

From dog walker: Took RAMONA for a walk along canal. She's such a nice girl. Sat down for the whole car ride and didn't bark at any of the animals or people we saw. She loves to walk, probably could have gone another hour. Pulls on the leash but is so responsive to rewards-- treats, praise, pets!

FROM RAMONA HERSELF!

Dear Friends,

I've come here today to clear up a thing or two. While it is true, people aren't exactly lining up to adopt black or dark-colored dogs like me, especially if we're on the large side - yes, it's a known phenomenon. It is also true that there are other folks who would stay away because of the way I (and some of my compañeros) look... you know, a little on the tough side. But see, I can't let those things get me down. You can ask my buddies here at the shelter, and they’ll tell you, I’m a sweet, loyal, and spunky friend who is always up for some fun! And I just know, someone, someday, is going to march in here and say "LISTEN UP! I've come here for RAMONA and I'm not leaving without her!"

In case you happen to be reading and thinking to yourself, "Say, that's not a bad idea." Let me tell you a few of the reasons you might want to consider doing said thing: I just love to run and go for walks, even when it's cold and snowy out! I love treats and will sit down politely when I’m offered one. I love belly rubs, especially when I’m all tuckered out after a long walk or play session. And I love my favorite toy, a big green ball, which I pick up every time I see a friend. I have a lot of love to share; I just need someone to share it with!

So, when shall I expect you?

Your future BFF,

~Ramona
