Rambo's Story

Meet Rambo!

Don't let his age fool you at 13 years old, Rambo still has the heart and energy of a much younger dog! He's the perfect mix of playful companion and cuddle buddy. One minute he's romping around the yard trying to convince his dog friends to play, and the next he's happily curled up beside you for a nap.

Rambo's ideal home would be with a person or couple who can give him plenty of love and attention. He would especially love having another friendly dog to play with and a securely fenced yard where he can run, explore, and enjoy his daily adventures. He loves chew toys, bones, and tossing his toys around all by himself.

Once Rambo bonds with you, he becomes a true Velcro dog. He loves being close to his people and will happily follow you from room to room. He enjoys cuddling but is also respectful of boundaries when asked. Rambo is a smart boy who already knows sit and stay, and he's eager to learn more. Puzzle toys, enrichment games, and training activities would be right up his alley. He walks nicely on leash and responds well to guidance from his humans.

Because Rambo can be a little cautious when meeting new people and animals, he does best with slow, respectful introductions. Give him time to sniff and get comfortable at his own pace, and you'll quickly see his sweet, happy personality shine through. Rambo thrives when he's given time to settle in and build trust with new people. A quieter home without a constant stream of visitors would be ideal while he adjusts, though once he's comfortable, he forms strong bonds and loves being close to his people. With patience and proper introductions, you'll be rewarded with a devoted companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side.

Rambo gets along well with cats and mostly ignores them. He has not been tested with children, his foster family thinks he'd do best in a home with out children. But could probably do well with older respectful children 15+

Like many clever dogs, Rambo can be an escape artist if given the opportunity, so a secure yard and careful attention around doors and gates are important. The good news is that he's usually easy to catch and responds well to calm handling.
When Rambo came into foster care, he was underweight, but he has been thriving with a structured feeding plan and is gaining strength every day. He loves treats, enjoys mealtime, and is ready to continue flourishing in a loving forever home.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a playful spirit and a heart full of love, Rambo may be your perfect match.

Rambo needs monthly heart meds that run about $56 on chewy. And will need yearly to bi yearly vet visits to take a look at his heart.

To learn more about him or set up a meet and greet, please fill out our adoption application first and our adoption coordinator will be in touch.
