Rambo's Story
A little over a year ago, Rambo was found in rural Mississippi with a massive head wound. He had clearly been through something unimaginable. He lost vision in one eye and needed time to heal, both physically and emotionally.

Today, Rambo is fully recovered and living life with enthusiasm. His partial vision doesn't slow him down - he runs, plays, explores, and loves just like any other young dog. If anything, his story makes him even more remarkable.

What stands out most about Rambo isn't what he survived - it's how deeply he loves.

He is incredibly affectionate and bonds hard with his people. He leans into pets, seeks out attention, and wants to be close. He feels things fully (and sometimes loudly!)- joy, excitement, adventure - especially outdoors. The world is fascinating to him.

Rambo does have a strong prey drive and needs a home without small animals or small dogs. He does great with dog his own size. He is currently fostered in a home with 3 other large dogs and he loves to play! He is crate trained, house trained, and responsive when calm. With structure, consistency, and confident leadership, he thrives.

Like many black dogs, Rambo can be overlooked. But the right person won't overlook him - they'll see his resilience, his loyalty, and his enormous heart.

He survived what could have ended him.
Now he just needs someone to choose him.
