Rajini's Story

Hello, kind humans.
My name is Rajini, and though I’m an older puppy, my heart is still learning how gentle the world can be.
I came from a hard place—one where humans were unfamiliar and safety wasn’t guaranteed. Because of that, I look at new things with careful curiosity. But underneath that caution is a girl who is full of hope and eager to trust and love her people.
I’m a quick study and love making my humans proud. I’m doing wonderfully with potty training and picked up using pee pads almost instantly—my foster says I’m quietly brilliant. They also say their very favorite thing about me is my sweet little mouth and my tiny, perfect “teefs.” Apparently, I have a shy smile that can turn anyone into a puddle.
As I build confidence, I can still get nervous with sudden changes or surprises. When that happens, I might try to create a little extra space for myself, so I’ll need a family who understands my sensitive nature and can keep an eye on me during this adjustment period. Gentle routines and a calm environment help me feel safe as I settle in.
Because of my sensitivity, I’d do best in a home without cats and with children 13 or older, who can move at my pace and help me continue building trust.
What I want most is someone patient and kind—someone willing to let me grow into the loving, devoted companion I know I can be. My trust may take time, but once I give it, it will be warm, steady, and forever.
I’m ready to discover what love truly feels like... one tiny “toof” at a time

It Takes A Village Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
Hopeful adopters must fill out an adoption application. All applications are screened and potential matches are contacted. Follow up questions are emailed. A phone call is set up to clarify any questions about the adoption process. At that point the fosters are provided the contact information for the potential adopters. They set up a meet and greet at the fosters home. During the meet the foster will tell the potential adopter the good, the bad. and the ugly about the dog... we want total transparency in order to have an open and successful adoption. After the meet we ask the fosters and the adopters their thoughts. If the adopter would like to proceed, their references are checked and a virtual home visit is conducted. If the adoptable dog has any sort of behavioural or medical issues a plan to address the issue would be required before adoption could proceed. If all is good then the adoption contract is sent out to be signed and returned along with the adoption fee. The foster is given the green light to arrange pick up.
