Raisin's Story

Raisin - Female - Adult

Hi, I’m Raisin. I am a 1-2 year old girl who was found out in the cold as a stray. I am a medium-large size girl (about 60 lbs) with very long legs and a heart of gold! My foster mom thinks I am the sweetest girl in the world and that I would be the perfect companion for any individual or family. My nicknames include “Raisinette”, “Rais-a-roni”, and “Craisin” when I’m being goofy.

I am overall very calm, but I do get a bit excited when meeting new people (I love people!) and sometimes jump up, but we are working on it. I am completely house-trained and have never (not once!) had an accident in the house. I politely stand by the back door when I am ready to go outside. I also have never shown destructive tendencies. I like to chew my toys, but never household items or shoes. I am working on my crate-training. I used to roam freely outside, so the concept of a crate doesn’t make much sense to me, but I’m slowly learning that it isn’t a scary place. I’ve been left alone at home for multiple hours at a time and usually just nap on the couch. I also love looking out the window and watching all of the people and dogs out on the street. I have only barked a few times at people outside. I am usually just curious what everyone is up to. I travel well in the car, but sometimes getting me in the car is a challenge (it’s scary to step inside). Once I’m in the car, I look out the window or lay down and relax.

I started out a bit shy in my foster home but have recently shown that I have a very silly and sweet personality. I love eating snow and then getting the zoomies and running around the yard like a goofball. I love affection and will snuggle up with you on the couch whenever you want.

I am a medium energy dog who LOVES going on walks (even in -30). I walk well on the leash and love sniffing everything in the neighbourhood and meeting everyone. I want to play with the dogs I meet, and am very interested in kids. I’ve only met one child, but I was very polite and gentle.

Adoption fee is $295. She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed and current on vaccines.
