Raisen's Story
A060475 Raisin; intact Doberman Pinscher / Shar-pei mix; est. 5 months; 15 lbs
Contact: Calaveras County Animal Services
(209)754-6509
Website: https://animal.calaverasgov.us/
Email: animal@calaverascounty.gov

Watch out, it's adorable puppy time! Meet Raisin, full o' beans and fun, ridiculously cute, and ready for playtime and cuddles.

Raisin is a sweet snugglemuffin just begging to be taken home and brought up right by a loving family. His beautiful coloring is of course classic Doberman. He's not too wrinkly, but his adorable mug harkens to the floopy muzzle typical of the Sharpei. Best of both worlds?

This little buddy was super scared and reactive at first, but our dog whisperers coaxed him with gentle love and snacks and now he is a total lovey dovey boy. He's just getting started on walking on leash. At first he thought the leash was the end of him, poor buddy, but now he knows leash time means it's time to go play in the puppy pen and he's all in. He likes to jump up into your lap or up into the chair next to yours to get close for cuddles and kisses. And treats. He loves treats. He sits like a champ already and takes rewards with a gentle mouth.

Raisin is very interested in the other dogs in the shelter, greeting them excitedly when they walk past him in the puppy pen. He's still too young for us to put him with other dogs, but we'd guess he'll grow into a good play friend for any dog siblings.

Raisin will need to be neutered before he can go home with you.

He does keep his inner kennel tidy, only using the outside section for potty time. Though we can't make guarantees, that's a good sign.

We do not have info on his attitude toward cats at this time.

As always, a meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home.
