Rain's Story

Age: 1 year
Size: 38 lbs
Estimated breed: Pit bull mix
Perfect home: At least one other resident dog

During the winter storm in January, our southern rescue partner came across a family of dogs living outside in the elements. Two young female dogs, Cloud and Rain, had wandered onto the property and both given birth there. The homeowner reached out to animal control for assistance but unfortunately none ever came, so he did the best he could with his very limited resources to feed this large family. Out of the 16 puppies Cloud and Rain gave birth to, only 6 had survived by the time our rescue partner stepped in to help. The 6 puppies left for rescues almost immediately but Rain and Cloud remained behind in SC in a foster home. When we learned about these little ladies, we knew we had to help, and committed to bringing them to PA to find the best forever families.

Rain is still just a puppy herself, just turning one year old in March. She is the more timid of the two sisters and really leans on other dogs for comfort, so her forever home needs to have at least one canine friend for her. She has done well with cats, kids and all people! She absolutely melts into you for cuddles and comfort and is a certified lap dog despite weighing 38 lbs. Rain is looking for a family with lots of love in their heart for shy dogs, and she promises to blossom once she's comfortable and feels safe!

To adopt Rain, please apply on our website! https://www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application

Rain's adoption fee is $350, which covers her spay, vaccines, monthly prevention, and microchip.

Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training.

PA Kennel License #18366
