Radar's Story

Meet Radar! A big goofy boy with a giant head, an even bigger heart, and absolutely no concept of personal space.

Radar is the kind of dog that lights up the second you walk into the room. He LOVES people and wants to be part of everything you’re doing whether that’s going on an adventure, playing fetch, playing with stuffed toys, or just getting in bed.

At around 1 year old and ~60 lbs, Radar is basically an oversized puppy. He’s energetic, clumsy, hilarious, and full of personality. He especially loves other dogs, though he can come on a little strong at first because he gets so excited to make friends.

Radar was found emaciated on the side of the road with scars on his paws and chest/leg area, likely from being hit by a car or getting caught up in something during his time as a stray. Despite everything he’s been through, he is unbelievably trusting, affectionate, and happy.

He’s adjusting beautifully in foster care so far. He rides quietly in a crate during car trips, hasn’t had accidents inside, doesn’t mind the rain, and already knows “sit” and “spin” (as long as snacks are involved, obviously).

Radar is also VERY enthusiastic about water. Puddles? Amazing. Water bowl? Best thing ever.

He’s cuddly, playful, and wonderfully expressive. If you make a circle with your hands, he’ll gently stick his muzzle right into it like it’s the most natural thing in the world.

Radar would thrive with an active family ready for a dog that’s equal parts adventure buddy, comedian, and oversized cuddle bug.

If you’re looking for a resilient, joyful dog with a goofy smile and so much love to give… Radar is your guy.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
