Rachel's Story

This lovely 45 lb pittie girl is a sweet soul wrapped in a stunning brindle coat. She adores people and gives affection with her whole heart to those who win her trust and her adoration. A little shy at first,
Rachel is very independent and can share space with other dogs but doesn't need them to be happy. She enjoys walks, playtime, and exploring, but she's just as happy settling in for quiet moments.
Rachel is looking for a family who appreciates a loving dog that is up for outings and adventures but will she will also be perfectly content to curl up beside you and watch your favorite movies. She'd thrive with someone who wants a best friend for both the active moments and the peaceful ones.
Her brindle coat is beautiful, but her heart is what truly stands out. She will fill your home with love and warmth just by being in it.
**Hiking feedback: "Rachel was a dream on the leash! She didn't pull at all and kept pace with me the entire time. She was calm and quiet, but seemed to get along well with all the people and dogs she encountered. She loved getting treats and sniffing along the trail. She is a sweetheart and would make an amazing addition to any family"!
*Sleepover feedback: " Rachel was great with all the dogs and all the kids we came a cross on our walks, and no leash pulling! She is house trained and let me know when she needed to go out. Not a fan of the crate but tolerated it. In the car, just keep the window down a bit and she does well. She loves to cuddle or look out the window at home. It was really nice having a dog around"!
*Additional feedback: " Going for walks was one of Rachel's favorite parts of the weekend. She walks so nicely on the leash, keeping a great pace and never pulling. She did not pay much attention to squirrels, birds, or people/dogs passing by. Instead she prefers to sniff and track all the new and exciting scents on the trail. Rachel has wonderful house behavior. She can keep herself entertained with a good ole stuffed toy or rope toy to chew on, and I didn't feel worried at all that she might go for a shoe or furniture. She attentively watched neighbors and other dogs through the window or while she sat on the porch and never once barked at anyone going by!

Saving Grace Animals for Adoption's Adoption Policy
All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccinations, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $395.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member. Our Adoption Request Form can be completed online at our website at https://savinggracenc.org/adopt/. An Adoption Request Form is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a potential adoptee or a foster home. Sending an Adoption Form does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. If you'd like to donate to help cover the cost of care for these wonderful dogs awaiting new homes, please visit the donate page on our website at https://savinggracenc.org/give/donate-now/. Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
