R.A.D.'s Story
R.A.D. is a super cool puppy with a super cool name, and it has a special meaning. While you might think “Rad” stands for “radical” (and, honestly, this little pup is that awesome), it’s actually an acronym for River Arts District—a vibrant artist community in Asheville, North Carolina, that was recently tragically devastated by Hurricane Helene.

At just five months old, R.A.D. is one of six Boxer-Mountain Cur mix puppies from a litter rescued in the aftermath of the storm.(We are in partnership with Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue to find homes for RAD and his siblings.) Like his namesake, this pup is creative and full of personality! He loves exploring, playing with his siblings, and learning new things—he’s super smart and already picking up on basic training.

R.A.D. has a striking brindle , Black & white coat with expressive eyes that seem to say, “I’m ready for adventure!” Whether it’s a hike, a romp in the yard, or snuggling on the couch, he’s happy just to be with his people. He gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a home that embraces his playful, energetic spirit.

R.A.D. is fostered in Canterbury, Connecticut and is ready to bring a little artistic flair and a lot of love to his forever home. Could you be the perfect match for this hurricane survivor with a heart as big as his story?

Apply to adopt R.A.D. through Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue today!

More about the River Arts District:
The River Arts District (RAD) in Asheville, North Carolina, is a vibrant community along the French Broad River, home to over 200 artists working in various mediums, including painting, ceramics, textiles, and glass. The area features more than 20 historic buildings, previously industrial spaces, now converted into studios, galleries, and shops. Visitors can explore the district to watch artists at work, take classes, and attend events like the popular Second Saturday Art Strolls.

Hurricane Helene caused significant damage to the district, heavily impacting the artist community. Many studios and galleries were damaged or destroyed, leading to ongoing recovery efforts. Initiatives such as relief funds and donation drives have been launched to support artists and help rebuild the district’s creative infrastructure. The community continues to celebrate art and resilience, even as it recovers from the devastation.

ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE or will be SPAYED OR NEUTERED.

The Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue adoption donation is $620.00. This includes: spay/neuter (at our vet), vaccines (dhpp, bordetella, rabies), microchip, health certificate, fecal test and our dogs are on preventatives for fleas/ticks/heartworm.

Out of state adopters must also pay for an interstate health certificate to their state. (This is typically around $75.00)

To apply to adopt one of our dogs fill out our adoption application at this link:
https://form.jotform.com/ChasingSunshine/Chasing-Sunshine-Adoption-App

For questions email: chasingsunshinedogrescue@gmail.com
Check out our website at www.chasingsunshinedogrescue.org
We are also on Facebook, TikTok & Instagram

Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue Inc. is recognized as a section 501(c)3 non profit organization.
