Quincy: In Training's Story
DOB: 4/1/2015 Approx. Weight: 13.5 lbs.
Adoption Fee: $225 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness!

ONLY FAMILIES WITH EXTENSIVE SCHNAUZER /DOG EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED

Quincy and his brother and sister Quinton & Queenie were surrendered to Furry Kids'. Their parents were a Miniature Schnauzer (Mom) and a Mini-Aussie/Pomeranian (Dad)
Quincy is a VERY sweet, shy little guy, who just wants to please and be with you. Therefore, his foster mom asks that he only receive positive reinforcement to help nurture his skills (especially when introducing him to a new environment/people) and no harsh words....a simple 'no' and 'good boy' is all that is needed to guide him. Plus don't forget the treats! He loves treats.

Quincy is in a quiet foster home with 3 dogs, no cats, and no children. His foster mom recommends no children under 12 yrs old and suggests Quincy might enjoy having an easy going dog as a companion/playmate since he prefers not to be alone. His foster mom also recommends no cats, rabbits, etc. because schnauzers have a natural prey drive. Quincy MUST have a secure fenced backyard.....he is a fast little guy and has never been off leash. As for housetraining, the foster family generally gates all their dogs in their kitchen/hearth room area and the foster mom, who does not work, lets them outside about every 3 hours throughout the day. Quincy has done quite well with this schedule, but he is crated whenever the family goes somewhere. He also sleeps throughout the night .....in his foster family's bed!

Overall, Quincy loves to be with his humans, loves to be held & cuddled, gives kisses, does well on a leash, minds well, likes to frolic in the backyard, will bark at strangers (as schnauzers do), & has a natural Mohawk hair do! Plus he is very intelligent keen little guy! He is just an awesome dog & his foster family thinks he is pretty special! We hope you do too!
Quincy has been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Quincy, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
