Quincy's Story
This sweet, adorable and outgoing puppy was given up by someone who adopted him directly from the owner but decided after one week that she couldn't handle his puppy energy and mouthing. He can be timid when he first meets people, but warms up quickly and is then a silly, playful, very smart, and affectionate guy. He loves to learn new things and we are exposing him to lots of new experiences. We were told he is 12 weeks old and was the result of an accidental litter. He currently weighs 20 lbs. Because he is a Malinois mix, he will thrive with an owner who enjoys doing obedience training and other activities with their dog. He is working on his housebreaking and doesn't have accidents as long as he is taken outside frequently.

Malinois are not a good fit for everyone, so please research the breed if you are not familiar with it. They are herding dogs and therefore don't always make great pets for families with young kids. According to the AKC, "Early socialization and obedience training are musts."

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application here: medfieldshelter.com/adopt

If a dog is listed on our website, it is still available for adoption; however, there may be applications ahead of yours. We typically receive many applications for every dog we post. All adoption meetings are by appointment.

Our puppy adoption fee is $600. Every dog we place receives age-appropriate vaccines, is treated for worms, ticks, and fleas, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog in our care.

With few exceptions, dogs are happiest and well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families willing to commit to both.
