Meet Quimby
Meet Quimby!

Breed: Possible Rottweiler, possible hound, possible something with long hair. :)
Size: 45#
Age: 2 years old (as of 10/2022)
Momma Quimby spent the first years of her life chained up in an outdoor pen, complete with padlock + all, with little to no human interaction. Understandably so, she can be a little timid and shy until she feels safe. She is quickly learning that not all humans are bad, but will require a home with time and patience to allow her to feel safe and develop into her best self.
With a mild activity level, Quimby just needs her daily stroll around the neighborhood or backyard play session before she agrees to snuggle on the couch with you. She doesn't even care that she's watched this episode of Love is Blind 3 times because you keep falling asleep. She is a great car rider, and is learning what toys, bones + tennis balls are.
Since life on a chain is not conducive to well-rounded, socialized dog, Quimby will need some additional leash training, and some assistance in dog-language and manners. Because of this, do not expect Quimby to be a candidate for dog parks or group daycare at this time in
her journey. She is crate trained, but is still adjusting to life inside. She is also working on house training, but does tend to utilize the puppy pads while she adjusts to life inside. She thrives off of routine and like with any dog in a new home, there may be an adjustment period until that routine is established.
To our knowledge, both cats and children would be a new experience for Quimby.
