Quigley- COURTESY LISTING's Story

--This is a courtesy listing for our rescue group friends. Please do not contact Colorado Herding Dog Rescue. We have no firsthand knowledge of this pup. Contact information and links is at the bottom of the page.--

Quigley is a sweet, cuddly, loving Border Collie/Aussie mix that turned up in his current guardians neighborhood. He was probably abandoned. His temporary guardian followed all the protocol for lost dogs and she is now trying to find him a good home. CHDR wants to help too!

Quigley is probably profoundly deaf, but is easy to train with marks and hand signs, treats. He knows/is working on: Sit, Lie Down, Stay, No, Come, All done, Touch and Leave it. He walks well on leash,

Quigley has shown signs of past abuse and neglect and is afraid of sticks, brooms, sprinklers, the vacuum and being left. His savior guardian has been working through his fears slowly and is able to finally brush him, walk past a sprinkler.

This is a smart dog that needs a job! If left to his own devices he collects and makes piles of shoes and laundry and gets into mischief. Quigley is a loving dog and will make a good match for an experienced herding breed owner who will continue training with patience and love.

Quigley is very eager to please and loves learning and working. He likes other dogs but not small dogs. He loves children. His prey drive is probably too much for cat and small animals.

Quigley will be neutered next week and at that time will be up to date on his vaccinations and have a bare medical record. Colorado Herding Dog Rescue (CHDR) contributed toward his neuter.

Heather, his temporary guardian, is keeping him safe and has begun training him. There will be a rehoming fee to cover some of the costs incurred.

If you are interested in a dog named Quigley, please contact Heather at quiglyd@msn.com

--This is a courtesy listing for our rescue group friends.
