Quesadilla's Story

Meet Quesadilla! Quesadilla is a 2-month-old, 5lbs female Shiba Inu. Quesadilla is a sweet girl who came to us due to having a heart murmur.
Quesadilla's echocardiogram shows that she has a form of congenital heart disease called a ventricular septal defect (VSD). A VSD is a hole located between the left and right ventricles (lower pumping chambers of the heart). This opening allows blood flow to shunt from the left ventricle into the right ventricle instead of being pumped normally to the body. Quesadilla's VSD is small, so only a small amount of blood is shunting to her right ventricle. Overtime this can lead to enlargement of the left heart chambers in some dogs. Quesadilla currently has moderate dilation of her left ventricle, but her left atrium (upper left heart chamber) remains normal in size. Periodic monitoring of her heart with an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) will be needed to monitor for further heart enlargement in the future. Quesadilla will need a repeat echo in 6-9 months. Quesadilla does have a grade 1 of 4 left and 3 of 4 luxating patellas.

The adoption fee is $00. This includes the spay/neuter, microchip, wellness bloodwork, fecal flotation, deworming and all core vaccines through puppyhood (as long as you return to us for vaccines).

If you are interested in adopting , please e-mail adoptions@thelovepetproject.org with " " in the subject. Please also tell us about yourself and your household.
