Queenie in NE's Story
The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home

My name is Queenie, and I am a petite, 8 year old Boston Terrier and weigh 22 pounds. I'm a special-needs girl—I'm deaf—but I've learned to navigate the world just fine, and I'm ready to trade in my old life as a breeder release for a life of joy and safety. I am being fostered in Omaha, Nebraska.

I'm a sweet, sensitive soul who is learning that humans can be wonderful! Because I didn’t get a lot of human interaction before, I can be a bit skittish, but every day I make progress. I'm not a lap dog, and I prefer to keep all four paws on the floor, but my foster family has taught me that slow and steady wins the race. I'm learning to let my foster mom or dad gently scoop me up for bedtime or kennel time.

My absolute favorite thing is playing with my foster siblings. I am a true "dog's dog" and love nothing more than a good romp in the yard. Chasing my dog friends is my Olympic sport! If you have playful, friendly dogs at home, we're already best friends.

Because I rely on other dogs for confidence and fun, my new home is required to have at least one existing dog. I'm looking for patient, loving human companions who understand that a little distance goes a long way as I settle in. A home without small children would be best so I can continue to feel safe and calm.

I’m very polite and will pace back and forth by the door when I need to go out (since I don't bark to ask). The only time I use my voice is if someone dares to sit in my very favorite chair, or if I've been in my kennel too long (I'm working on that).

I need a family or person that celebrates small victories and understands that earning my trust is the greatest reward. With a little patience, I promise to bring so much life and laughter to your existing dog pack!

Here’s a little more about me:
Housetrained? Yes, as long as you’re paying attention to my actions
Leash-trained? No
Rides well in car? Yes
Good with other dogs? Yes!
Good with cats? Not tested
Good with young children? No. They’re too active and make me very nervous.
Good with strangers? Indifferent
Shy or confident? Very shy.
Barks? Occasionally
Apartment qualified: No.
Any Special needs or Health Issues: Deaf
Adoption Fee? $ 275

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.

If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application

Petfinder's form is NOT our application. We will respond back to you within 72 hours of receiving your application.

Interested in Donating visit https://www.adoptaboston.com/donate
