Queenie 's Story

Queenie is a young adult female Shepherd-type dog who is ready for a structured, consistent home. She is confident and independent, and she explores her surroundings with curiosity. She has a solid understanding of basic commands and responds well to clear direction. She is approximately 45 pounds and she's come a long way from her northern roots in Nunavut. After raising her puppies; Littlefoot, Shadow, and Ducky, and undergoing training, it’s finally her turn to find the forever home she deserves.

Queenie has a high energy level and will do best in a home that can provide regular physical activity such as walks, runs, or hikes. She loves to go on runs with her foster dad. She enjoys outdoor time but also accepts attention calmly when it’s offered. She rides well in the car, looks looks around or lies down calmly. She is very friendly and affectionate. She loves her toys, especially the squeakies! She settles down at night and likes to cuddle on the couch with her fosters. She sleep quietly in her crate at night. She is now also doing well when left out of her crate for a few hours during the day while her fosters go out to run errands without any problems.

Queenie is great with other medium to large size dogs, however, when out on a walk she can have a lot to say toward other dogs she sees on leash, so introductions need to be managed. A home without any dogs and some doggie friends that she can share playdates or walks with is also a great options for Queenie. After all she does think she is the Queen.

Overall, Queenie is a smart, affectionate, healthy dog who benefits from clear structure and routine. With an experienced, confident owner and an appropriate home environment, she will adapt well and form a steady, reliable bond with her people.

If you'd like to meet Queenie, send us a message or fill out an application below. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her Adoption fee is $900. She can't wait to find her forever family!

https://form.jotform.com/201853389773265
