Puppy Love IN FOSTER's Story
SENIOR CITIZEN SEEKING RETIREMENT HOME. MUST RESPECT HIS ROUTINE. DO NOT TOUCH HIS THINGS.

Meet Puppy Love, who arrived at Zeus’ Rescues in June 2024 and would now like to speak to the manager about why he is still here.

First: Puppy Love is NOT a puppy. Puppy Love is somebody’s grandpaw.

He is a crotchety old man trapped inside a dog’s body. He has a routine. He has preferences. He has boundaries. And he has probably mentally drafted several strongly worded letters to management.

You know your grandpa who sat in the same chair every night, ate dinner at exactly 5:00 and got irritated if someone touched the thermostat?

That’s Puppy Love.

He likes things the way he likes them, and if you do them incorrectly, you will be notified.

He does NOT like to be picked up.

Why are you picking him up?

Did he ask you to pick him up?

PUT HIM DOWN, DEBORAH.

Puppy Love enjoys leisurely walks, squeaky toys, hoarding those squeaky toys, snacks, naps, his personal space, a fenced backyard and judging your life choices from across the room.

He is not looking for adventure.

He has had enough adventure. He would like to retire.

His ideal person understands that he isn't going to greet you at the door screaming, "YOU’RE HOME!!!"

He's more likely to look up from his bed like:

"Oh. You again."

And honestly? That's love.

Once you understand his rules, Puppy Love is a funny, loyal little companion who wants a quiet life with someone who appreciates a senior gentleman with a strong personality and absolutely NO interest in changing at this stage of his career.

He may also be able to live with another calm dog who understands the first rule of Puppy Love Club:

Mind your business.

Because Puppy Love is a senior and has been waiting since June 2024, he is available as a NO-FEE ADOPTION or FOSPICE placement to the right home.

Please share him.

Somewhere out there is a person who doesn't want a puppy.

They want a tiny, grumpy roommate who keeps a strict schedule, complains about the service, doesn't want to be carried and would absolutely yell at neighborhood kids to get off his lawn if he could.

Puppy Love has been preparing his entire life for them.
