Puppy's Story

Meet Puppy Looking for Her Happily Ever After
Some dogs spend their whole lives taking care of themselves. We think it's finally Puppy's turn to let someone take care of her.
Puppy is a 12-year-old Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix who came to Maine from Texas after what we believe was life as a stray. When she first arrived in rescue, she had a few medical hurdles to overcome, including heartworm disease and a urinary tract infection. She tackled them all like a champ and has made a wonderful recovery. These days, she's healthy, happy, and ready to find the retirement home she's always deserved.
Puppy is the definition of low maintenance. She's house trained, leash trained, and perfectly content spending her day lounging in a cozy spot without needing a crate. She enjoys short walks, loves rolling around on her back in the yard, and is happiest when someone is giving her gentle pets, kisses, and plenty of affection. She'll happily soak up all the love you're willing to give.
She gets along beautifully with cats and other dogs, though she'd prefer companions who share her relaxed outlook on life. Rambunctious playmates aren't really her style—Puppy is looking for a peaceful home where she can enjoy a slower pace.
Like many senior dogs, she has a little arthritis in her back end, but it doesn't slow her down. She still enjoys getting out for walks and exploring at her own comfortable pace.
If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion who asks for very little and gives so much love in return, Puppy may be your perfect match. After spending her early years fending for herself, she's more than earned a life where she's cherished, spoiled, and treated like the queen she is.
Could you be the one to give Puppy the happy ending she's been waiting for?
