PUNKIES's Story

Meet Mr Punkies!!!! Punkies is a 3 year old, 40lb male husky mix, and 46% herding dog (sheepdog, collie, aussie, cattle dog, border collie, german shepherd!). We had him DNA tested. His other top breeds are Husky, Terrier and Elkhound. All these breeds created a very goofy personality in a small package. He definitely likes to herd the other dogs and is very talkative. He is very entertaining at times too. Kind of a little clown dog.

He is wary of new people but will warm up quickly. We think he was likely abused in his past life but still wants to trust. He’s a cuddly guy and will seek out attention. He’s learning to play with toys and he’s learning how to play with other dogs. He lives with 2 other border collies and a German Shepherd. He’s about medium energy so is not over the top like a border collie. He is very herdy so little kids are probably not the best idea. He will need at least a 4ft fence and he requires a physical fence and decent sized yard to run around in. He’s crate trained but will protest, especially if he knows you’re home. Overall he really is a fun little guy who continues to settle in and be more of himself the longer we have him.

Punkies is neutered, up to date on shots & on tick & flea preventives! If you would like more information on Punkies you can email mcclellanka@gmail.com or apply to adopt below.

All ARCBCR dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, on heartworm preventative, dewormed and on flea and tick preventative before going to their forever homes. If interested in this pup, please fill out an online application on our website, www.arcbcr.org, and an ARC volunteer will contact you regarding your home evaluation to see if you and this pet are a good match. Please consider making a donation to help the ARCBCR Border Collies.
