Pumpkin's Story
PLEASE READ FULLY BEFORE INQUIRING – WE RESPOND FIRST TO THOSE WHO PUT IN AN ADOPTION APPLICATION

PUMPKIN IS BEING FOSTERED NEAR WATERLOO, IA

Pumpkin’s story is as heartbreaking as it is hopeful. He was seen running from house to house, desperately trying to find someone who would let him in. He wasn’t just lost—he was begging for a chance. Thankfully, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan saw him, took him in, and reached out to our rescue to give him the fresh start he so clearly deserved.

Now in foster care, Pumpkin is thriving. He’s crate trained, great on a leash, and gets along well with other animals. Due to his habit of jumping for attention, we recommend a home with older children or breed-savvy adopters who understand the needs of high-energy dogs.

Pumpkin is the definition of people-friendly. He loves attention and will gently jump up to tap your fingertips if he feels you’re not giving him enough love. He doesn’t nip or bite—just a sweet reminder that he’s there. He knows how to sit, loves to chase the farm cart during horse feedings, and enjoys truck rides and baths at Tractor Supply (though he’s not a fan of the dryer). He’s also incredibly routine-driven, happily entering the outdoor kennel during feeding time and waiting patiently at the door to be let out—no bolting, just good manners.

Pumpkin is heartworm positive, which is common among strays in the South. The good news is that he is completing treatment and is on his way to being heartworm negative soon. If you have any questions about his health, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email. Pumpkin will be neutered before adoption. He will be up to date on vaccinations, on monthly preventative, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300, which includes transport to our Cedar Rapids, IA location.

If you’re interested in giving Pumpkin his forever home, please complete our adoption application linked below. Thank you for considering this incredible boy!

Adoption Application: https://form.jotform.com/222645266803053
Email: tailsintransit@gmail.com

Since most of our animals are found as strays, we cannot guarantee breed or age. Breed and age are decided based on our experience as well as veterinarian advice.

Our adoption fees help cover expenses and fund our program to let us continue to Rescue, Rehab, and Rehome stray and abandoned animals. Thank you so much for considering adoption.
