Pulaski's Story
Meet Pulaski: shy to start, loyal to the end.

Pulaski is a stunning 5-year old mixed breed (but one look at this cutie's photos suggest there might be some strong Boxer genes) that is ~60-pound bundle of energy and love.

Her story like many, did not have the brightest start. She was left behind in a park in NYC and later taken to the Manhattan Animal Care Centers by the NYPD. Once there, she struggled and was misunderstood, but that did not stop this sensitive soul from eagerly embarking on her healing era. After spending some time in the shelter, she landed into a foster home where she has been soaking up all the love while slowly learning how to trust again.

While she can be discerning when meeting new people (understandably so!), once she feels safe, she is truly the sweetest, cuddliest, and most affectionate gal you'll ever meet. Pulaski is also whip-smart! She knows her basic commands like sit, down, place, and wait. This beauty queen is also crate and potty trained, and is currently working really hard on her leash manners as well as muzzle training.

This beautiful girlie is very treat motivated (favorite snack: peanut butter). She also absolutely loves going on car rides! Exploring trails, hiking, and playing tug of war are amongst her favorite activities.

Inside of the home, Pulaski is an exemplary companion. She is very content keeping herself entertained, but she will never say no to some snuggles with her favorite people. Not only does she sleep soundly through the night, but she also will gladly spends most of the day lounging while watching doggy TV while chomping down on a yummy treat, and taking lots of naps.

She is still learning to navigate the outside world which can sometimes be overwhelming. She has been steadily making progress during walks and is now able to follow known commands when outdoors, as well as being able to stay engaged with her handlers.

Pulaski is patiently waiting for a home to call her own. She yearns for a family that understands that trust takes time, and that is willing to give her the time and space to truly feel safe. Could you be the ones to open your heart and home to her?
