Puggy Pie *special needs*'s Story

Puggy Pie has been through a lot, but you'd never know it after spending just a few minutes with her. This sweet girl lived her whole life with her previous owners until a tragic accident left her with a spinal fracture and dislocation of the L3-L4 vertebrae. Miraculously, Puggy Pie is pain-free and is still able to live a happy, fulfilled life. However, as a result of the injury, she is now special needs. Understanding that they couldn't meet her needs, her family made the difficult decision to relinquish her into our care.

Now that Puggy Pie has settled in, we're falling more and more in love with her every day--and we hope someone else will too! She may be paralyzed in her hind legs, but that doesn't stop her from scooting around quickly or enjoying her new wheelchair, which she absolutely loves on outings. Puggy Pie is also bladder and bowel incontinent, requiring expression several times a day. While it might sound intimidating at first, our dedicated staff is happy to teach you, and with a little practice, it becomes second nature.

Puggy Pie is a social and affectionate little one. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves to cuddle, whether with a fellow pup or her favorite human. She also does well with children and has a sweet, gentle temperament. We believe Puggy Pie could be an excellent therapy dog, bringing her warmth and joy to nursing homes, hospitals, or other places in need of her love and compassion.

Her ideal home would be with someone who has experience with special needs dogs or is eager to learn the ins and outs of caring for one. Puggy Pie requires extra care and attention, so her future family should not be away for long hours. At 5 years old, Puggy Pie still has so much life to live and so much love to give. Could you be the one to make her life even more special? Please inquire today!
