Pua's Story
Pua is 22 pounds of Frenchie personality, complete with a silly streak and plenty to say. At almost 2.5 years old, she has already discovered that life is much more fun when you have a voice—and Pua is not shy about using hers.

This girl came into rescue with her skin in rough shape, but she's been working hard on her glow-up. With a special diet, daily baths, and medication, Pua's skin is improving, and she's showing us more of the happy, playful girl underneath it all.

Pua will need a breed-savvy family who understands that her skin care is part of keeping her feeling her best. Fortunately, she's already proving that she's willing to cooperate with the program. Well, “cooperate” may be a generous term for a Frenchie, but she's getting there.

She's silly, expressive, and wonderfully vocal, so life with Pua is unlikely to be boring. She has opinions, she has personality, and she has apparently decided that silence is vastly overrated.

Her name means “flower,” and Pua is certainly putting in the work to bloom. She's already making progress, and with the right family continuing her care, this little Frenchie can keep growing healthier, happier, and more comfortable.

Pua is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and tested negative for heartworm and tick disease on her 4DX test. She's looking for a family who will embrace her special needs, keep up with her skin care, and appreciate all the silly, vocal, wonderfully Frenchie personality that comes with her.

Want to meet her? Please fill out our application at azhartt.org/adopt

Requirements include meeting everyone in the household, dog intros (if applicable), and a home check.

Adoption applications are approved on a best-fit basis.

We do not do out-of-state adoptions.

Adoption Fee: $900
