Prudence's Story

Prudence, aka "Pru," the pretty French Bulldog mix girl came to us in November 2025 with a bit of a backstory...she was rehomed by a "breeder" who decided she was "too stupid" to breed any longer. The couple who took her in didn't realize the extent of her medical needs until a first vet appointment, and contacted us. Many appointments/surgeries later, all of the following have been addressed: inverted and infected tail (which has been removed), rectal mass, severe, chronic ear infections, mass in her left ear, aural hematoma (which the doctor left alone as it was stable), stenotic nares, specialty spay (due to a prior c-section). Her ears will likely have chronic issues due to the amount of scar tissue in them from untreated infections.

Pru is around 2.5 years old now. She is a bossy girl who likes most other dogs close to her size or bigger, but needs a home without small animals. She can also be reactive if she sees other animals outside of her yard, so a fenced-in yard that doesn't butt up against another yard would be ideal. Prudence is about 34 pounds but very squatty. Pru would do best with teens/adults, she is probably too exuberant for little kids.

Pru is being fostered in Bay City, MI and her adoption fee is $200. In addition to being spayed, she is microchipped and fully vaccinated. You can apply for Pru at www.mittenmuttsdogrescue.com/adopt
