Absolutely No Men.<br/><br/>Prospect Pete is a 5-year-old miniature Dachshund who was found wandering the streets of Louisiana looking like life had thoroughly kicked his little wiener-dog ass.<br/><br/>When NorthStar took him in, Pete was skinny, covered in hair loss, had double ear infections, needed a dental, had a growth on his chest, and frankly looked like he’d been through several terrible life choices and at least one bad relationship.<br/><br/>The good news? His body is healing.<br/><br/>The bad news? Pete has apparently decided that men are canceled.<br/><br/>We can’t know exactly what happened to him during his first five years, but we’re pretty certain a man failed this little guy in a big way. He sleeps quietly in his crate when he knows you’re nearby because, like many of us, he simply wants reassurance that everyone isn’t leaving him forever.<br/><br/>Now, let’s discuss the elephant in the room:<br/><br/>Pete is not housebroken.<br/><br/>There. We said it.<br/><br/>Pete wears a belly band because sometimes his feelings get bigger than his bladder. He uses potty pads when available, goes outside with encouragement, and continues to work on his life skills.
