She originally came to the shelter in 2021, was adopted, and has since returned to us. Princess Mya will need a home that understands and is willing to work with her behavioral needs. Princess Mya enjoys toys, playtime, and offering sweet eye contact to the people she trusts. She knows her basic cues like sit and paw (often paired with a submissive smile!) and can be playful and wiggly when greeting familiar faces. She walks on leash but may pull at times and can show some barrier reactivity in her kennel. Princess Mya does have handling sensitivities and prefers affection on her terms, she does not enjoy prolonged handling or having her paws touched. She also exhibits resource guarding with food and high-value treats, though she is able to trade items for treats when handled appropriately. Princess Mya must be the only dog in the home and is looking for a child-free, adult household that can provide structure, patience, and continued training.
