Princess's Story

Meet Princess

Princess is a 3-year-old Maltese weighing just under 11 pounds. She has been in foster care with MARS for about a month now, which has given us a good opportunity to get to know her and figure out what kind of home will suit her best.

Princess is an active little dog. Her foster describes her as a spitfire, and she loves being outside tearing around the fenced yard, including running right alongside the bigger dogs. She is also vocal, so we are not considering apartments or other living situations where barking is likely to be an issue.

She is very affectionate and wants to spend a lot of time with her people. She loves cuddling on the couch and will happily tuck herself right up under your neck. Because she is quite people-oriented, we would prefer a home where someone is around for a good portion of the day. Someone who works from home or part-time, or is retired, may be a particularly good match.

Princess does very well with other dogs and enjoys playing with them. She could live with another compatible dog, but we don’t believe she needs one and would also be perfectly happy as the only dog in her home.

She is house trained and will use a pee pad when necessary. She is not crate trained, and leash walking is something her new family will need to work on with her. A securely fenced yard is required.

We don’t currently know how Princess feels about cats. She has not been tested with children, either. Older, respectful children may be appropriate, but because of her small size, we are looking for a home without young children.

Princess is a young, busy, social little dog who also happens to be an excellent cuddler. She isn’t a quiet little lap dog who wants to spend her life sitting on a cushion. She wants to run, play, bark, be involved in whatever you’re doing and then curl up as close to you as physically possible.

That’s Princess. And we think the right person is going to like her exactly that way.

At Myrtle Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, every dog adopted comes with:
* Spay/Neuter
*Core vaccines
*Rabies vaccine (age dependent)
*4DX test for heartworm & tick borne diseases (age dependent)
* Flea, tick & heartworm prevention
* Parasite treatment
* Microchip
* Dental surgery if recommended by our veterinary partner
* A session with a positive reinforcement trainer
* Ongoing support from our team because adoption is just the beginning
* 30 days of Trupanion Pet Insurance

Adoption Fee: $850

To apply to adopt Princess:
https://form.jotform.com/243494963032258

#MyrtleAnimalRescue #MARSRescue #StThomasOntario #Maltese #MalteseRescue #AdoptPrincess #OntarioDogRescue #RescueDogsOntario #SmallDogRescue #AdoptOntario
