Princess's Story

If you want a dog who thinks you are the greatest person on Earth, who is excited every time you walk in the door, and wants nothing more than to shower you with affection, then Princess is your girl. She is a happy, friendly Lab; she mostly ignores other dogs, but ADORES people. She is still very active and healthy, does great on walks, and basically enjoys life. She would make an excellent companion!

Shep's Place Senior Dog Sanctuary's Adoption Policy

As a Sanctuary, our dogs are welcome to stay forever. But if a person or family comes along that is a good fit, and we believe that the dog would be better off with them, then we are certainly open to adopting them out. We require that a potential adopter fill out an application, meet the dog at our facility, and submit to a home visit. If that goes well, there is a two-week trial foster period, which either side can cancel. Hopefully at the end, our dog will be happy in its new home!

Our Mission

The mission of Shep's Place Senior Dog Sanctuary is to provide a home for old dogs in KC area shelters and rescues who have been unable to find an adoptive family.
