Princess's Story

Okay friends... meet Princess. This an owner-surrender we have the honor to help. She was profoundly loved and cared for. She is spayed, vaccinated, housebroken, crate-trained, leash-trained, rarely barks and all the other signs of cherished family pet. Sadly, her owner is sick and we are so hopeful we can find her a second happily ever after!

Just take in the words from her surrender application: "Princess was rescued as a puppy around 2015 from deplorable conditions in Alabama, fostered in Tampa, then adopted by an older woman for who lived alone. When her person passed away after about 10 years, her daughter, who was a foster volunteer, found and vetted [our rescue]. Princess was accustomed to a quiet life at home relaxing with her person. I visit my daughter and grandchildren several months a year so she got used to them. She likes to romp around in a dog park occasionally and she's okay at doggy daycare when necessary. But what she likes best is to lie on the couch or bed with her person.

She is the sweetest, most lovable dog I can imagine. She's very smart. She wants to please you so she tries to figure out what you want her to do. She's cooperative with everything. She only knows gentleness and kindness. She rarely barks. She waits till you walk away before she eats her food. Since her original rescue she has only known kindness. She was trained with positive reinforcement, not punishment. She understands lots of words. Responds to C'mere, no, and sometimes, sit."

Princess is still decompressing having only arrived a few days ago, but has been happy and friendly with everyone who comes to the foster home. She loves to say "Hi!" to dogs on walks and her little tail is always wagging. She would love a fenced yard to do zoomies in. She seems much younger and more playful than her 11 years and enjoys her walks and runs. She sleeps through the night and likes to be at the bottom of the bed. She seems to relieve herself only on leashed walks and is solidly house trained.

As she adjusts, Princess has been barking a little bit when left alone. According to her owner, she rarely barked, so this may be part of her adjusting and trying to work out what is happening to her. She is adjusting and also grieving her lovely home and owner. Little Princess (or Tess as her foster has been calling her) is a gorgeous, little dog, bouncy, happy and super sweet -- an absolute gem. Her resident sibling dog is enjoying her, as much as he enjoys any dog -- he is fairly indifferent to all! I think she would love to be in a home with other dogs or as only dog, fenced yard and her person or people. She truly loves to be a companion, so she would make an excellent companion pup to hang out with you whenever she gets the chance!

As mentioned above, this beautiful soul is spayed and UTD on vaccinations. Can you give her the golden years she deserves?

APPLY TO ADOPT NOW!!

https://rosemariesrescueranch.com/dog-adoption/

In the Consideration section, under 'Application Notes', please tell us about yourself to help us get a feel for you and your family, and as a fit for the pet you are interested in.
