Princess

Princes is a poodle that came into Pawportunities on June 9 of this year. She turns 9 this month. She was released from a breeder, so is essentially a shell of a dog. Shes been in a wonderful foster home which has been working on building her confidence, and teaching her about amenities like dog beds, treats, and receiving pets. She is still afraid of being touched, and people in general. She goes potty on concrete, and doesnt like grass- likely because thats what shes familiar with. While her progress has been slow, she has still made great strides in comparison to where she began. She is looking for a forever home that will be patient with her. One that understands they need to continue her rescue journey with her, and that making progress can appear negligible, but that those minuscule changes do add up to make a big difference over time. She needs an adopter that notices the small things and can be content with celebrating those wins. With dogs like Princess, they can require a lot of work, but the bond that's created over time as you essentially hold their paw healing through their past trauma is something truly special.
