He was so underweight, it was heartbreaking. His body told the story, this wasn’t new.

And still… he waited.

For hours, he sat in the same spot—watching, hoping. Greeting every person and dog with a soft wag, like he believed they might be the one to take him home.
The neighbors thought he belonged to someone nearby. But no one came.

Even after everything, he didn’t give up on people. When his foster took him in, they started calling him Prince. Scanning his microchip revealed his original name was Duke. When the number on file was called, the original owner said he had been rehomed two years prior and at that point, he was surrendered to the vet office, leaving him without a home once again.

So now, he carries both names—Prince Duke. At 3 years old and 55 lbs, Prince Duke’s temperament is truly exceptional—the kind of dog people search for and rarely find.

✨ What makes him so special:

-House trained & crate trained
-Walks well on leash
-Knows commands sit and shake
-Goes to his place and waits patiently until told he can eat
-Will sit and stay until released, even as you increase distance
-Comes when called
-Looks to you for guidance and truly takes his lead from his person

💛 His temperament: Prince Duke is calm, gentle, and incredibly well-mannered. He avoids conflict, ignores barking dogs, and chooses peace every time. He reads people beautifully and adjusts to your energy—just wanting to be close and do the right thing.

He has been amazing with every person he’s met—soft, friendly, and trusting in a way that’s hard to believe after what he’s been through.

He’s perfectly balanced—he enjoys playing tug-of-war with his rope toys, but he’s just as happy curling up next to you and falling asleep. Being near his person is his favorite place to be.

And his only “flaw”?…
He is a professional snack thief. 🍿
If you leave food unattended, consider it gone. Chips, candy… nothing is safe. He’s quick, quiet, and very proud of his work.

👑 He waited once for someone who never came back.
Please don’t let him wait again. 👑

Apply for Prince Duke below:

https://form.jotform.com/CLMR/TXAdoptApp
