Prescilla's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Prescilla is available for adoption after months in foster care due to heartworm treatment. She’s received all of her injections, she has a few more appointments scheduled which will be provided below.

Prescilla is a happy chunky pup! She’s got lots of spunk in her and she’s ready for her forever home! She’s house trained (had a few accidents, believed to be caused by the medications she’s on) but other than a few pee accidents she’s been great. She’s dog friendly, can take a min to warm up to new dogs but she’s just part of her foster homes pack now days. She’s not aggressive towards cats but she will chase them if they run, she thinks it’s a game. She’s kennel trained and doesn’t really enjoy a leash, but she does okay. She doesn’t pull on the leash, she just does not want to walk.
Her foster has really come to love Prescilla during her time in foster care, but unfortunately she can’t stay there forever.

Prescilla has to return back to Columbus Animal Hospital in Columbus IN for the rest of her treatment. Even though she was stage 3 when she arrived, she’s really doing fantastic after her treatment! Prescilla could possibly have a deficit which could require heart medication once she completely cleared of heartworms, but that is not something that would be known until later down the road. She may need medications for the remainder of her life or she may not. Just something to keep in mind if interested in adopting Prescilla.

She is not spayed yet due to the complications from anesthesia that would come with surgery while she’s still going through HW treatment. Prescilla would require the refundable $150 spay deposit. Once cleared for spay surgery she will return to Columbus Animal Hospital for surgery. She is up to date on vaccines/preventatives as well as microchipped!

Prescilla has one upcoming visit at CAH on 4/14/26 at 8AM for a drop off.
If you have any questions please e-mail her foster directly.
