This sweet girl seems to approach life with a smile—she’s affectionate, outgoing, eager to please, and always ready to be part of whatever fun is happening.Prairie has enjoyed meeting some of the other dogs here at the shelter and loves making new friends. With her cheerful personality and affectionate nature, we think she has all the makings of a terrific family dog.

Like many young dogs, Prairie is still learning some of the basics of being a well-mannered family companion. She’ll do best with someone who looks forward to teaching her skills like walking politely on leash and all those other good-dog manners. The good news? Prairie is so eager to please that she should be an absolute pleasure to teach! Positive reinforcement, a little patience, and plenty of praise will go a long way with this girl.

Prairie will thrive in a home where she’s truly part of the family and included in the fun. At about 45 pounds, she’s a great size for an active companion and ready for all kinds of new adventures. Hiking? Absolutely. Long walks? She’s in.
